South Portland Street Suspension Bridge across River Clyde It was built between
1851 and 1853, replacing a temporary wooden bridge on the same
site. Its structure was modified in 1871 and it has been refurbished on several further occasions. The bridge is so named due to being the continuation of South Portland Street. The bridge is category "A" listed. |

The Briggait in the
Saltmarket
Built in 1873 in French Renaissance style. a category "A" listed building The building was originally used as Glasgow's fish market until the late 1970s. It was then converted into a shopping centre during the 1980s. It was subsequently converted into artists studios which opened to the public in August 2010. |
