The Alan Ingram Venture Award

Objective: To support outdoor adventure activities of individuals and organisations in East Dunbartonshire.

Founder:  Alan Ingram.

Background Info re Alan Ingram: A former leader of the 24th Glasgow ( Bearsden ) Venture Scout Unit

– organised visits to the Stubai Alps of Austria, the Pyrenees of Andorra and a tour of Arctic Scandinavia.

A worldwide recreational mountaineer with walks, treks and climbs on five continents:-
 – European Alps, High Atlas of Morocco, Nepal Himalayas, Southern Alps and Volcanoes in New Zealand, Sierra Nevada and Rocky Mountains of USA.
 A Munroist ( Compleator ).

Notes:

1) Potential uses of the Award:

                a) payment of travel / transport costs for adventure activities

                b) purchases of equipment for outdoor activities eg camping / climbing gear

                c) payment of training course fees eg mountain leadership
